CALGARY – Today, Sochi 2014 Olympians, Paralympians and coaches marched and rode through the streets of Calgary for the 2014 Parade of Champions, celebrating their Sochi accomplishments with local Albertan fans.

CALGARY – Today was the second day of the 2014 Celebration of Excellence, a three day series of events where the Sochi 2014 Canadian Olympic and Paralympic Teams make public appearances in Ottawa and various cities throughout Alberta, including 135 schools today in Calgary, Edmonton, Banff, Red Deer and surrounding areas.

The 2014 Celebration of Excellence is a 3-day event (June 4 – 6) to celebrate Canada’s successes within the Olympic and Paralympic Movement.

1. CANADIAN OLYMPIC AND PARALYMPIC PARLIAMENT VISIT

The Sochi 2014 Canadian Olympic and Paralympic Teams will be making public appearances starting on June 4th at Ottawa-area schools and hospitals as well as the House of Commons.

2. CANADIAN OLYMPIC AND PARALYMPIC HEROES TOUR

The Heroes Tour, consisting of school and hospital visits, will be making its way through Calgary, Banff and Edmonton on June 5th.

EVENT SUMMARY

From June 4th to 6th 2014, the Canadian Olympic Committee  and Canadian Paralympic Committee's most prestigious  annual event will take place. A superstar class of Olympic and Paralympic heroes will be honoured over three days filled with community outreach, public appearances and engaging celebrations, starting in Ottawa and culminating in the Edmonton and Calgary.

Parade Route announced for Sochi 2014 Canadian Olympic & Paralympic Team Celebration

CALGARY – Today, the Canadian Olympic Committee and Canadian Paralympic Committee announced the official route for the Sochi 2014 Parade of Champions which will take place in Calgary on June 6 at 11:30 a.m. MT.

As part of the 2014 Celebration of Excellence, Canada’s Sochi Olympians and Paralympians will take part in the Parade of Champions which will start on 8th Avenue at 10th Street and finish at Olympic Plaza on Macleod Trail.
