Adam Dixon scored in regulation time and the shootout as Canada defeated the U.S. 3-2 to conclude the preliminary round with a perfect record on Wednesday night at the World Sledge Hockey Challenge taking place this week in Bridgewater, N.S.

The Canadians opened the tournament Sunday with a convincing 5-1 victory over Russia and shutout South Korea 2-0 on Tuesday.

The 2015 IPC Ice Sledge Hockey World Championships A-Pool will be held at HARBORCENTER in Buffalo, New York, in the USA, from 24 April - 2 May.

Organised by USA Hockey, Buffalo 2015 will mark the third time the Championships will be held in the USA and comes after the US team became the first in history to win back-to-back Paralympic golds at the Sochi 2014 Paralympic Winter Games.

Joining them at HARBORCENTER will be Sochi 2014 runners-up Russia, defending world champions and Sochi 2014 bronze medallists Canada, Czech Republic, Norway, Italy, Germany and Japan.

IPC Ice Sledge Hockey, the international governing body, has a strategic goal to develop the women’s game and aims to develop and implement a first World Championships for women prior to the 2022 Paralympic Winter Games.
