Shayne Dobson

Shayne Dobson started his athletic career as a competitive tennis player but took to running when he arrived at the Université de Moncton to pursue a degree in kinesiology, and became a member of the cross country team. He eventually became the team captain and still helps the Aigles Bleus as an assistant coach. He is also a member of ASEA, the Moncton-based track club.

Dobson was born with cerebral palsy that affects the left side of his body, but it has never been an obstacle for him in his pursuit of excellence.

In 2015 at the IPC World Championships, Dobson broke Canadian records in the T37 1500-m and 800-m races to complete a strong season.
