The IPC and Rio 2016 back public led #FillTheSeats campaign for Rio 2016 Paralympics

Aug. 30, 2016 -The International Paralympic Committee (IPC), the Rio 2016 Organising Committee and the Agitos Foundation, the IPC’s development arm, gave their full support on Tuesday (Aug. 30) to a global fundraising campaign with an invitation to the world to fund 10,000 Brazilian youngsters to attend next month’s Paralympics.

Bruno Garneau added to Boccia team for Rio 2016 Paralympic Games

OTTAWA, Ont. – Aug. 23, 2016 - The Canadian Paralympic Committee and Boccia Canada have announced an update to the boccia team that will compete for Team Canada at the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games.

Bruno Garneau (Montreal, Que.) has been added to the Canadian boccia team.

Canadian Paralympic Committee reacts to Court of Arbitration for Sport ruling Court upholds suspension of Russia; team ineligible to compete in Rio

August 23, 2016, OTTAWA – Today the Court of Arbitration for Sport announced it has dismissed an appeal by the Russian Paralympic Committee against its suspension by the International Paralympic Committee.
The suspension means that Russian athletes are not eligible to compete at the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games set for Sept. 7 to 18.
