Established in 2015 as the philanthropic arm of the Canadian Paralympic Committee, the Paralympic Foundation of Canada’s goal is to ensure that the programs, equipment and people are in place to propel more Canadians with a disability all the way from their communities to the Paralympic podium.
As a leading sport nation, Canada has had a front row seat for the amazing genesis of the Paralympic movement. Where athletes with a disability once competed on the fringes of sport, today, our Canadian Paralympic athletes stand proudly on the world stage as shining examples on and off the playing field.
However, while many Canadians are familiar with the Paralympic Games and proud of the extraordinary accomplishments of our Paralympians, they may not always appreciate that success isn’t only about competing and winning medals. Winning the race begins with ensuring that every single Canadian can imagine themselves at the start line, regardless of ability.
The Paralympic Foundation of Canada’s charitable registration number is 813904190RR0001.
