Nicolas-Guy Turbide

Nicolas-Guy Turbide continued to develop his talents in 2015 as he qualified for both the IPC Swimming World Championships in Glasgow, Scotland, and the Toronto Parapan Am Games.

At the Speedo Can Am Para-swimming Championships in Toronto, Turbide won six races in the S13 class, the 50-metre, 100-m and 400-m freestyle, the 100-m backstroke, 100-m butterfly and 200-m individual medley.

Turbide has accumulated a wealth of international experience at a young age. In 2014 he won the bronze medal in the S13 400-m freestyle at the Pan Pacific Para-swimming Championships. It was his first medal at a major international event.

Turbide competed in three events at the 2013 IPC World Championships in Montreal. He placed sixth in the S13 100-m backstroke and seventh in both the 100-m butterfly and 400-m freestyle.

The visually impaired swimmer was also on the 2011 Canadian squad for the Parapan American Games in Guadalajara. He placed sixth in the 50-m and 100-m freestyles.
