Athletics Canada announces 2011 IPC World Championships team

Athletics Canada announced today a contingent of 33 athletes who will compete at the 2011 International Paralympic Committee (IPC) Athletics World Championships. Held for the first time outside of Europe, the Championships will take place from January 21 to January 30 in Christchurch, New Zealand.

Cassidy wins Tyne Tunnel International Road Race

In England on Friday Josh Cassidy of Guelph, ON captured yet another international road race title at the Tyne Tunnel 2k. Cassidy beat a strong field including double 2008 Paralympic Games gold medalist David Weir (4:13.3) in a personal best time of 4:04.3.  Third went to Ernst van Dyk of South Africa in 4 minutes and 23 seconds.
