SOCHI, Rus. — Canada’s Paralympic veterans, Brian McKeever (Canmore, Alta.), Chris Klebl (Canmore, Alta.) and Colette Bourgonje (Saskatoon) will hold their lone media availabilities prior to competing in the 2014 Paralympic Winter Games following training on March 8, 2014. McKeever, a 10-time Paralympic medallist, along with his guides Erik Carleton (Canmore, Alta.) and Graham Nishikawa (Whitehorse), and two-time Paralympian Klebl, will train from 9-9:55 a.m. They will be available for interviews in the mix zone and the cross-country ski stadium immediately following training.
Bourgonje, an eight-time Winter and Summer Paralympic medallist, will train from 2:45-3:45 p.m., and will also be available for interviews following training.
A total of 14 of the nation’s best para-Nordic skiers and biathletes, eight men and six women, will don the maple leaf race suit next month in Sochi. McKeever, Carleton, Nishikawa, Klebl and Bourgojne, will be among 11 athletes and three guides representing Canada that includes: Mark Arendz (Hartsville, PEI); Brittany Hudak (Prince Albert, Sask.); Caroline Bisson (Ottawa); Yves Bourque (Bécancour, Que.); Sébastien Fortier (Quebec City, Que.); Louis Fortin (Shippagan, N.B.); Margarita Gorbounova (Ottawa); Robbi Weldon (Thunder Bay, Ont.); and guide Andrea Bundon (Regina, Sask.).
