Parapan Ams stimulated Huot to swim four more years

December 15, 2015

If it wasn’t for Toronto hosting the 2015 Parapan American Games, Benoit Huot may have retired after the London 2012 Paralympic Games.

Instead he continues to be the leader on the Canadian para-swimming team winning medals and awards including the Team Aquatic Supplies Male Para-swimmer of the Year on November 25 from Swimming Canada.

It’s the 11th time winning the award for the Paralympic legend. In 2015 he captured two silvers (SM10 200-m individual medley, S10 400-m freestyle) and a bronze (S10 100-m backstroke) at IPC Worlds. He then went on to take gold in the 400 free at Parapan Ams, and silver in the 200 IM, 100 back and 34-point 4×100-m medley relay.

Huot’s coach Marc-Andre Duchesneau received the Coach of the Year (male para-swimmer) for 2015.
