Canadian Paralympic Committee’s Research Partners Meeting a big hit

On Monday June 26, 2017, the Canadian Paralympic Committee hosted its inaugural Research Partners Meeting in Ottawa. 

Sport researchers from across Canada and even one from Britain came to the nation’s capital to participate and contribute their expertise to establishing a research agenda for the CPC.

Among the topics examined and discussed throughout the day were: athlete and coach development, youth participation and education and athlete recruitment.

‘’We were thrilled to bring together some of the brightest minds in Para sport to support us as we build  a thorough, sustainable  research strategy,’’ said Jenny Davey, manager, system development and education for the Canadian Paralympic Committee. 

‘’The researchers who gathered here brought very diverse viewpoints, expertise, and experiences to the table, and we look forward to continuing to collaborate with them to guide our decision-making and help us evaluate the short and long term impact of our programs and initiatives.’'
