Sledge Hockey team in Sochi

After a self-described disappointing fourth place finish at the 2010 Vancouver Paralympics, Canada’s sledge hockey team sparkled in Sochi this winter. Team Canada posted a 4-1 record, its only loss a 3-0 defeat to the United States, the eventual champions. Two days later Canada would rebound with a 3-0 victory over Norway to win the bronze medal.

This month, join us in revisiting memorable moments for Canadian Paralympic sport in 2014. The Sochi 2014 Paralympic Winter Games and the Commonwealth Games were the high profile events for Canadian para-athletes in 2014. But as is the case with their able-bodied counterparts, Canada’s high performance athletes with a disability travelled around the world to various competitions including World Cups and world championships and enjoyed plenty of success.
