Mac Marcoux

Aged only 16, visually impaired alpine skier Mac Marcoux went to the Winter Paralympic Games for experience and came home with a gold medal in the giant slalom and bronzes in the Super G and downhill with guide Robin Fémy. Marcoux and his older brother B.J., his regular guide who was injured just before the Sochi Games, were inducted this fall in the Sault Ste Marie Sports Hall of Fame.

But as is the case with their able-bodied counterparts, Canada’s high performance athletes with a disability travelled around the world to various competitions including World Cups and world championships and enjoyed plenty of success.
