14 Memories of 2014: Gautier sweeps road races

Shelley Gautier’s dominance in the T1 class in road para-cycling continued this year at the UCI World Championships in Greenville, South Carolina. The Toronto rider won both the road race and individual time trial and is now on a streak of eight consecutive gold medals at the worlds. Marie-Eve Croteau of Quebec City was Canada’s other medallist at worlds with a silver in the T2 time trial. Calgary’s Jaye Milley was a double bronze medallist at the track cycling worlds.

But as is the case with their able-bodied counterparts, Canada’s high performance athletes with a disability travelled around the world to various competitions including World Cups and world championships and enjoyed plenty of success.
