Kristen Kit is the coxswain for Canada’s LTA4+ (mixed coxed four) that will race at the Paralympic Games in Rio. Kit guided Canada to bronze at the 2015 World Championships in France and to seventh place at the London 2012 Paralympic Games.
She also competed on the able-bodied side, helping Canada to bronze in women’s eights at the 2013 World Championships and bronze at the under-23 World Championships in 2010.
Kit began rowing in 2003 at the Sir Winston Churchill Rowing Club in St. Catharines, Ont. She says her proudest moment was winning a race as cox while representing the University of British Columbia at the Henley Royal Regatta.

Kit’s favorite thing about rowing is the “blend of the teamwork needed to achieve a result, the advantage that skill and technique bring in a race, and of course racing itself.”
