Hannah Smith

Hanna Smith has enjoyed a strong 2011 season highlighted by qualifying for the Canadian team for the Parapan American Games. She made the team with a strong performance in the S9 100 breaststroke at the Can Am championships in Gatineau.
She says it’s been the best year of her career, thanks to great coaching.

Smith got a taste for a Games atmosphere by competing at the Canada Western Summer Games this past summer in Kamloops, B.C., earning a victory in the 100 breaststroke.

She started swimming at age seven and enjoyed it immediately. The Grade 9 highschool student also dabbled in soccer and dancing, but it was no match for racing in the pool. Her disability is bilateral club feet.
