Chad Drummond

Chad Drummond has been competing with the national team since 2005. Born with a disability, he has always had a love for sport and a particular passion for volleyball. He also had incredible support from his father. He credits sport for teaching him important life lessons and skills, such as discipline and leadership.

Since joining the Canadian national team, Chad has competed at three world championships, one continental cup and one Parapan American Games. His career highlights include a bronze medal at the 2007 Parapan American Games in sitting volleyball and two world championship gold medals in standing volleyball.

Chad trains six days a week and is striving to qualify for the London 2012 Paralympic Games. His greatest challenge is finding a balance between his work and training schedules. Chad is a qualified personal trainer.

When he is not working or training, Chad enjoys soccer and snowboarding. His motto: “Win hard, play hard.”
