Eric Dechaine

Eric Dechaine was born with a disability and first got involved in volleyball at age 12. Inspired by his older brother and the popularity of the sport at his school, he picked up the sport and has been hooked ever since. He started competing at an elite level in 2007.

Since then, Eric’s biggest challenge has been finding a balance between sport and all of the other aspects of his life. He follows a planned training schedule that has him in the gym between five to six days a week.

Eric is looking forward to competing with the best at the Guadalajara 2011 Parapan American Games and the London 2012 Paralympic Games. His career highlight up to date is winning a bronze medal at the 2007 Parapan American Games in Rio, Brazil. Eric is a student and when he is not playing volleyball, he enjoys playing video games or outdoor sports.
