Chim-Hing Chan

Chim-Hing (Stephanie) Chan acquired her disability at age four, but only began playing table tennis at the age of 44.

Having had a personal interest in the sport since she was a child, Stephanie decided to take up table tennis to keep active. Today, she is looking forward to representing Canada at the Parapan American Games and is striving to win a gold medal. The feeling of defeating challenging opponents is what feeds Stephanie’s desire to compete and reach higher levels.

In 2010, Stephanie competed at the Korea World Championships as well as the Copa Costa Rica, where she earned a gold medal. Stephanie also recently competed at the 2011 Canadian Championships, where she finished fifth in singles and third in the team event. Stephanie credits her success to her hard work and positive attitude.

When Stephanie is not playing table tennis, she enjoys swimming, cooking and spending time with her family.
