Andrea Brousseau

Andrea who was born in Toronto, Ontario but now calls Nanaimo, British Columbia home, is a former junior national champion in slalom and giant slalom.  Since making the jump to compete at the senior level, she has had multiple podium performances at the Canadian Para-Alpine Ski Championships and has made great strides on the world stage, including a 4th place finish in slalom at the 2008 IPC World Cup in Korea and a pair of bronze medals in 2009 Nor-Am races.

Andrea is currently taking courses to complete a bachelor of business administration with a double major in marketing and management.  When not training or racing, this 24 year old volunteers to speak at elementary schools about paralympic sports and how sport has benefited not only herself, but thousands of others with a disability.  During the off season Andrea stays active by swimming, road cycling, surfing and kayaking.

Andrea loves the thrill of competition and the feeling of being the best that she can be.  She believes that hard work and dedication are the foundation to all successes whether it be in sport or in life and will always strive to perform to her full potential.  After competitive sport she hopes to stay involved in disabled alpine skiing through volunteering or coaching with programs in her region.
