Christopher Stoutenburg

Chris Stoutenburg began playing wheelchair basketball after sustaining a spinal cord injury in 1997. In 1999, he made the national team.
He was on Canada’s gold-medal winning national team at the Sydney 2000 Summer Paralympic Games and the Athens 2004 Summer Paralympic Games.
In 2007, he was on Canada’s team that came home with gold from the Visa Paralympic World Cup in Manchester, England. In 2006, he and his teammates came first at the Gold Cup World Championships in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Stoutenburg received the City of Amsterdam Sport Award.
