Christine (Christy) Campbell

Born three months premature in Ottawa, Ontario in 1983, Christy Campbell spent several months in the hospital before finally arriving at home when she was seven months.
Christy started wheelchair racing at the age of 12 when a teacher suggested she join a new adaptive track program. Throughout her career she had the opportunity to represent Canada at the 2000 Paralympic Games in Sydney, Australia, where she finished fourth in the T34 400-metres.
Christy is also a member of Ontario’s Para Nordic Ski team; in February she represented Ontario at the Canada Winter Games where she won gold in the 2.5 km sit ski and silver 5 km sit ski
